BBJ’s organizational
structure is simple and straight forward and is a reflection of the
transient nature of its continuous membership turnover. Retired
executives volunteer their support as executive and associate executive
directors. Personal and career counselors, a consultant, and secretary
also offer their services freely on an ongoing basis. The following
gives a brief description of each of our committees:

Alumni
Committee - Creates a network
of BBJ members who have successfully completed their job search and
are currently employed. This committee is responsible for periodically
updating the Alumni Network.
Arrangements
Committee - Prepares
the meeting room(s) prior to BBJ events and clears the area following
the event.
Computer
Committee - Responsible for
monitoring and recommending all the hardware and software used by
BBJ. The committee also provides training to BBJ members as requested.
Entrepreneur
Committee - Brings people together to opening discuss
alternative ways of producing income by owning their own business
versus the employment path they might have been pursuing. We
accomplish this by reflecting on individual needs, what each person
is trying to accomplish in career-transition, and if self employment
fits their needs.
Interview
Committee - Assists BBJ
members through Practice Interview training. These practice interviews enable the interviewee to improve
their skills and become more comfortable with interviewing.
Membership
Committee - Responsible
for new member orientation, maintaining attendance records and the
list of current members. Prepares computerized Membership Roster
and New Member Report.
Networking Committee
- Promotes networking activities among members, maintains and expands
BBJ Brown Bag activities and works with Program Committee to educate
members on networking skills.
Public
Relations/Marketing Committee
- Responsible for increasing awareness of BBJ in the business community
through a variety of marketing activities.
Program
Committee - Addresses the
specific needs of the BBJ membership through a series of programs
and speakers each week.
Resource
Committee
- Maintains current publications, i.e. The Wall Street Journal,
St. Louis Business Journal, etc., and job search materials.
Also collects industry specific periodicals no longer needed by
members.
Resume
Committee - Provides a review
and critique of member's resumes, and cover letters.
Telephone
Committee - Oversees the staffing
of the BBJ office during normal business hours.
CROSSROADS
TOASTMASTERS COMMITTEE
Crossroads
Toastmasters - Build speaking and leadership skills with time-tested
methods. Focus on areas of interest in our self-paced curriculum.
Receive suggestions for improvement through constructive evaluations.

Mentor Resource
Program - The BBJ Mentor Relationship is a one-on-one
coaching resource designed to provide specific assistance relevant
to the immediate circumstances of your job search.
