Resume
Review
Members are to place 3 copies of their
resume into the plastic tray labeled "Resumes To Be
Reviewed, 3 Copies". Write today’s date on the top left
corner of the first page, and use staples or paper clips if
the resume is more than 1 page.
Resumes can be dropped off before, during, or after the
meeting. There will be a cutoff time imposed for
dropping off new resumes to be reviewed after the meeting.
Approximately 15 minutes after the general BBJ meeting is
over, those new resumes already in the box will be picked up
and dispersed among the resume committee members to be
reviewed for the week. Any resumes added after the cutoff
time will not be reviewed this week and not turned around in
the usual 1 week. This cutoff is needed to help ensure
turnaround time.
The Resume Committee Member doing the review will put
their name and phone number in the top right-hand corner of
the first page for reference. Reviewed and returned resumes
will be placed into the resume file box at the beginning of
next week’s meeting, in the file folder of the alphabet that
corresponds with the beginning letter of the
member's last name.
The member whose resume has been reviewed will
pick up their resume in their file folder, and may wish to
talk with the resume committee reviewer, either in person at
the meeting, by phone, or by email if needed. The length of
time available and other needs will dictate how this
conversation will occur.
To
help you secure that next interview, the
BBJ Resume Committee is always ready to review your resume and offer
suggestions for improvement that only a third party can provide.
